Kharlovka - Sunday

The first real day of fishing and we, my partner David Saunders and myself, started off in upper Kharlovka. The helicopter let us off by Guys and we proceeded to fish our way from Falls and downstream. I had a 5 kilo shiny salmon in Falls and a grilse in Lower Canyon. This time it was Phatakorva size 5cm and float/sink 2 that did the trick. David landed two grilse in Lower Canyon and a black scarred 10 kilos in the home-pool. I landed two more with a Zonker Samurai, one in home-pool and one in Junction - a fantastic day that was concluded by an orange-red sunset over the tundra. I love to fish here in June but this is also fantastic but in a different way. To experience the wilderness is powerful and feeds your soul!
