Kharlovak - Monday 13/6

Last day for me! To have to leave like this is sad, but is the right thing – I am needed better else where! Peter and I did an hour in Homepool before breakfast - cold and no result! Today Barrel and down to the see on the schedule. Full flood at 19.00 made it a given plan to start at Barrel and work ourselves down. Right before lunch I was making a good long cast with almost all the shooting line towards the big stones in Rockpool - Reaction forever!( Bragging sure…just suck it in). The take was violent and the first run long – lovely! The thermometer showed 3,6 Celsius when the 20 lbs reached my hand. Int/2/4 and a 6cm “Whitch” made the job.
Further down closer to the sea it was time for the single handed rod.- every trip normally give me a few nice June fish on my singlehanded. This was my last chance! Reaction 10” for a line 9 is the best singlerod I have ever casted. 1/3/5 Tripple D in a 8-9 weight cut to 11 meters is a dream! This gave me 2 nice long tail sea liced 14 lbs. Today’s choice was a 6 cm Pahtakorva – this fly has given me many, many salmon!
A 5 min shower and just my hand luggage and off I went! Off to Tomani with helicopter after a quick moving of a house, drink with Peter Power in Rynda and then 3 hours bad road to Murmansk. Look at the film…cool , I think maybe I will ask Peter to go by and pick up my house from home and put it on the cliff by Ledge pool on the Litza!
Murmansk – this beautiful town….meet Justin for a chat and a drink. We sure missed him in camp!
