Daniel Persson

KVISSLEBY, SWEDEN

At the early age of 11 years Daniel got his first fly rod, and that by his flyfishing mentor. This summer he was allowed to come on a trip to Norwegian Størdal river. He has always been fishing but it was not before he turned 18 his fishing got more serious. Today Daniel and his family are living by the river Ljungan, one of Swedens few rivers with wild Baltic Salmon. He is a landowner and heavily engaged in the fight for Ljungans wild salmon and seatrout. Daniel has been guiding on some of Norway’s best rivers where he gathered useful experience. During wintertime Daniel is a very devoted fly tier with flies for the big Baltic seatrout as his specialty. Among his favorite patterns are The Pahtagorva and the Thunder & Lightning. “Danne” is an avid fisherman and when he doesn’t fish his home river Ljungan, he goes to the rivers in northern Sweden, some of the Norwegian rivers and of course one of his favorites - The river Em. Daniel believes that among the most important with his fishing is to socialize with other devoted anglers and fly tiers.

“Danne” has a strong voice for protecting the wild Ljungan fish, he has no believes in hatcheries and among his biggest wishes is to stop the devastating hatcheries on his home river. The wild fish has a fighter in Daniel - a fighter we have great believes in.
