Alta - first day
It’s always such a feeling going down to the biggest canyon in northern Europe, down to the world’s best salmon river. Good conditions with about 1.5 feet water level, rised my expectations. Down the stairs to Sautso, the stairs which got a new part was easier than ever. But the way up is still left…
This years I’m fishing with big brother Myhre; Kjetil. We’ll have a few great days! We started on the lower zone and Valliniva which usually is the best. Kjetil fished the west side without any result and I tried the east side and had a nice sea trout on 2.5 kg. A few casts later a hooked something bigger… A nice 94 cm 9 kg female was landed - YES! On the leader was one of the new Zebra tied, the smallest one from the blog post. Later we went up the river to Banas where I had a small one and a moment after that I landed my fourth fish of the night, a beautiful 4 kilos. What a start!
The other boat with Pål and ”Vildstryningen” were on the upper part and had 3 grilse. Now I’ll try to get some sleep in this salmon paradise…
