2:nd day - towards "Toppen"!
We took off around midday - Tormed Leinan, Odd Christian, Ole Johan and myself. We headed towards Bulevro, Svart foss and Toppen. The top spots of this world’s best river for catching big salmon – Alta. Fishing was slow. A couple of mysterious pulls and 3 grilse were to be my catch of the day.
I always feel fascinated over the insanity of increasing this river! Way up here where the water runs out of tunnels and turbines the rape of the river would be totally disastrous and preposterous! I will add a film later on to show you all.
After dinner we fished our way downstream. I caught a grilse in Nielo and had a few more pulls. The fish prefers fast flies!
Ole Johan had a real Alta salmon – a 13 kilo male in Valliniva – fantastic and moreover we caught it all on film! During the early morning hours I fished through Goddaniemi. I caught a nice 10 kilo salmon with a fast fished Samurai in black and orange but unfortunately lost it before I got a chance to put my hands on it…..
Decreasing water level and sunshine, a bit of wind – tomorrow might be a challenge……
