River Em – Three Years, One Tradition
Spring on the River Em is steeped in tradition. Ever since Gustaf Ulfsparre welcomed anglers—mostly from the UK—it’s been a place that marks the true start of the salmon season. Mikael and his longtime fishing buddy Håkan have been coming here together for over 40 years. Some years they’re met with fresh, silver-bright salmon straight from the sea; other years, it’s just a few kelts. But the magic is always there—cold mornings, classic pools, and the kind of hard takes that get your heart racing.
