Sunday

Sunday’s coaching was with Erki and Harald at Kharlovka falls. Sunshine and tricky as hell until lunch. A coloured 15 kilos fish showed interest and a tug of a smaller fish on the neck was the morning’s result. Difficult conditions in the smooth water! After lunch I went up to the fall and spent some wonderful hours photographing jumping salmon - a staggeringly cool experience, resulting in some nice pictures. Justin and I then photographed then under water until an hour before nighfall. A violent storm drove in and the last cast gave a nice fish at 4,5 kilos down on the fast neck. Again, it was a strong downstream swing and super speedy fly that gave results! There is probably quite a lot of fish but they are demanding, but with more clouds and some rain it is bound to loosen up though. The camp caught only a few fish - which is a bit surprising!
